So how is it used as a reference in OpenFormula in places where a range is expected?  Or is it separate, in something like

=SUM([.A5:C10]; named-range; PI() ) 

and what is the syntax of named-range there?

I assume 

 =SUM([.A5:C10] : named-range)

is also meant to be admissable?

I have the same question about the syntax of named-range in this case as well.
