Quick question related to XQuery

Is there any XQuery/XPath implementation that is based on SAX parser?
rather event model? basically I want to find out if there is any
implementation that evaluates XQuery/XPath on the tokens - start tag, end
tag, and PCData.

Is there one for XSLT??
