You might find the documents at

relevant, they are a series of xhtml+mathml(+svg as a final flourish)
documents that render in a suitable collection of browsers (I used
all of IE6+MathPlayer, netscape 7, mozilla and amaya during the talk
at this year's MathML bash.)
