The issue I have is that some of the profiles cross reference each
other in a circular manner, so it's hard for me to make the right
references before it gets handed over to you.
In particular, what happens when we go to OASIS standard with
circular cross references? The Multiple Decision profile references
the Hierarchical profile because some of the schemes in the Multiple
Decision profile are based on hierarchies. The Hieararchical profile
in turn references the multiple profile because it says that
hierarchies are useful for some kinds of multiple requests, and to
say that it is assumed that any multiple decision process has
already been done, which the individual hierarchical decision is
processed.
It wasn't a problem previously because we would go to OS with a
bundle of profiles together, so they would be OS at the same time.
However, if I understand it right, now each document has its own
track, so that raises the question of in which order the cross
references get updated and also what happens if you edit it assuming
that they both make OS, but then one of them doesn't.
Can we handle these kind of references, or should I edit out the
reference to multiple from the hierarchical, since it's not strictly
needed for the technical content to still work?

That way, your references will always go to the most recent
approved version of the document.
Alternately, you can ask TC Admin to update OASIS citations
during publishing with a designated cross-reference motion as
part of your approval. To do that, when the document is
approved for CS (e.g.) include language like this:
"I move to approve the Chair requesting that TC
Administration hold a Special Majority Vote to approve
<Committee Specification Draft title and version
number> contained in <URL to Committee Specification
Draft> as a Committee Specification, ******-> and to
approve the Chair requesting that TC Administration update
the following Designated Cross-References during publication
of the Committee Specification:
- Current reference to be updated: <text of OASIS work
product cross-reference to be updated? Expected approval
status and date: <expected approval stage>,
<expected month/year of approval>
- <repeat references as needed> "
With that sort of explicit instruction in the motion,
I'll update the cross-references as part of the publication.
It is the only time that I'll go in and change what the TC
wrote - I stay out of TC content in general.
