MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING

   Liaison reports

      JB: The Tax XML TC wishes to discuss a draft document for an
      indirect tax reference model.  It appears that a gap
      analysis would complete the work initiated a couple of years
      ago to ensure that UBL supports tax requirements.

      ACTION: TM to respond and discuss resources with European
      stakeholders.

   Subcommittee report: TSC

      JB: AS has kindly agreed to serve as interim chair.

      ACTION: AS to set up a TSC meeting for next week (6
      September).

      ACTION: JB to check with Mary McRae regarding webex and wiki
      facilities.

   Review of Atlantic call

      No comments.

   Support page submissions

      None this week.

UBL TC MEETING IN STOCKHOLM 24-28 SEPTEMBER 2007

   JB: Several UBL participants are not listed as attending by
   UN/CEFACT.

   ACTION: TM to point Stockholm attendees to the registration
   page.

   TM: Note conflict between a Friday morning UBL TC closing
   plenary and the Friday morning closing UN/CEFACT Forum plenary.

   AGREED to hold the UBL closing plenary on Friday afternoon so
   that UBL participants can attend the Friday morning UN/CEFACT
   closing plenary.

   ACTION: TM to inform UBL participants so that travel
   arrangements are made accordingly.

2008 TC WORK SCHEDULE

   ACTION (8/14): JB to make a timeline that fits the work into
   the OASIS TC process.

      Pending.

CUSTOMIZATION DISCUSSION

   ACTION: TM to update a draft of customization slides and send
   to the TC.

   JB: Where does my tech writer work fit in?

   GKH: Hold off till we finish the minor versioning discussion.

2008 TC MEETING SCHEDULE

   28 Jan - 1 Feb 2008 in Manhattan (Hotel Bedford recommended)

      This date has now been confirmed.  Participants can (and
      probably should) begin making travel plans.

   March 2008 in Rome (together with UBL International Day)

      Discussion still in progress among the organizers of the ID.

   August 2008 in Montr嶧l

      Two possibilities: the week of 4 August or the week of 11
      August, depending on the scheduling of the Extreme Markup
      Languages conference the week before.

   January 2009 in Fremantle

      Still tentative; note change from Nov or Dec 2008.

UPDATE CYCLE

   ACTION (8/15 Atlantic call): JB to form initial list of items.
   He will be asking for a volunteer to maintain the list going
   forward.

      Pending.

PACIFIC ACTION ITEMS FROM MANHATTAN (TRACKING)

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to provide feedback on UBL 2.0 SBS 2.0:

   ACTION: PSC and TSC to summarize business rules that are (1)
   wanted in UBL but not allowed by [i.e., capable of being
   addressed by] the NDR (e.g., requirement to include one of
   PartyName and PartyIdentifier but not both) and (2) data items
   whose constraints are inherited from another standard (e.g.,
   lengths of data items specified by UNTDED); the rules so
   identified to become candidates for a list of schematron
   assertions "recommended to be included" (final characterization
   TBD).

      Pending.

CL TRANSFER (TRACKING)

   "We need a decision from the OASIS CLR TC regarding the transfer
   of the code list methodology out of the UBL TC before we can
   begin issuing code list support updates."  

   GKH: CLR TC meeting tomorrow.

TC CONCALL SCHEDULE

   From last week's Atlantic call minutes:

   As always, the UBL TC will not hold conference calls the weeks
   before and after the next f2f.  Therefore, our concall schedule
   for the next seven weeks is as follows:

      Week of 08/27: Pacific and Atlantic calls as usual
      Week of 09/03: Pacific and Atlantic calls as usual
      Week of 09/10: Pacific and Atlantic calls as usual
      Week of 09/17: NO PHONE MEETINGS
      Week of 09/24: NO PHONE MEETINGS (F2F IN STOCKHOLM)
      Week of 10/01: NO PHONE MEETINGS
      Week of 10/08: Pacific and Atlantic calls as usual

   ATTENTION STOCKHOLM PARTICIPANTS: To be sure that you are
   voting members of the UBL TC at the meeting in Stockholm,
   please make sure to attend two of the next three weekly calls
   in a row (i.e., either the weeks of 8/27 and 09/03 or the weeks
   of 09/03 and 09/10 or all three).  If you don't care about
   voting status, you can disregard this (though of course we'd be
   glad to have you participate in the calls anyway).

   TM: Will be in Europe 17 September to 6 November, so will not
   be able to participate in Pacific calls.
