RE: Sample Virtual Router VNFD Template
Hi Sridar, I ran your scripts through my validator and cleaned them up to remove all validation errors. Results attached (I used the “cleaned up” NFV types that I incorporated in rev04 of the NFV spec). Perhaps we can start using these as examples in the NFV profile spec? I have a number of comments on these scripts. Let’s discuss during our next NFV meeting. thanks, Chris From: Sridhar Ramaswamy [mailto:] Sent: Friday, October 23, 2015 12:40 PM To: Lishitao <>; Chris Lauwers <>; Matt Rutkowski <>; ; Lawrence Lamers <> Subject: RE: Sample Virtual Router VNFD Template Thanks Shitao. I just uploaded the docs here, https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/tosca/download.php/56765/SingleVNFvRouterVNFD.v2.pdf https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/tosca/download.php/56766/single-vrouter-vnfd-diagram.pptx I’m really interested to see this Simple Virtual Router VNF Template through any tosca validator. BTW, quick heads up. I’ll be off for the OpenStack summit next week and I won’t be able to attend the TOSCA NFV meeting on Monday. - Sridhar From: Lishitao [mailto:] Sent: Monday, October 12, 2015 5:49 PM To: Sridhar Ramaswamy; Chris Lauwers; Matt Rutkowski; ; Lawrence Lamers Subject: 答复: Sample Virtual Router VNFD Template Hi Sridhar Since you are a member of TOSCA, and the slide is related to NFV adhoc (in TOSCA), uploading these documents on the TOSCA server is the right way to do. Please find attached the slides and the google doc write up used in today’s call. I hope we can continue the discussion in this thread. Specifically, it will be good to iron out how to define a ConnectionPoint connected to an existing network (created outside a VNF’s lifecycle) Thanks, - Sridhar From: Sridhar Ramaswamy Sent: Monday, October 12, 2015 7:09 AM To: Chris Lauwers; Lishitao; Matt Rutkowski; ; Lawrence Lamers Subject: RE: meeting this week(wednesday, 9-23) As a PDF attachment…. - Sridhar From: Sridhar Ramaswamy Sent: Monday, October 12, 2015 1:16 AM To: Chris Lauwers; Lishitao; Matt Rutkowski; ; Lawrence Lamers Subject: Re: meeting this week(wednesday, 9-23) Greetings, I made some more edits to the google doc to capture, 1. Simple profile version of vRouter template 2. First stab at tosca-nfv profile for vRouter. We can discuss more tomorrow's call. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P9loH3DG4fmhcDWVRowJ045dE911RR_yegNtmUquxMY/edit?usp=sharing On Sep 22, 2015, at 10:22 PM, Sridhar Ramaswamy <> wrote: I missed last Monday meeting’s as I got the invite at the last minute (perhaps I missed an earlier one). I’ll plan to attend the meetings starting next Monday. Shitao, Team: I saw the minutes from the earlier meeting to capture a single VNF (preferably a vRouter) in the tosca-nfv profile. I think it is an excellent idea. Since we are finding a bit challenging to get on a call shall we try to get as much things done asynchronously as possible before we meet next? I took a quick stab starting one at a google doc, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P9loH3DG4fmhcDWVRowJ045dE911RR_yegNtmUquxMY/edit?usp=sharing … to describe a simple vRouter with 3 interfaces (one each for mgmt., wan and lan) connected to 3 VirtualLinks with compute node properties, CPU ? 2 vCPU Memory - 4GB Disk Storage ? 8 GB Can we collaborate over this google doc to finish writing this VNFD ? BTW, any chance we can hold off the next rev of this profile until we finish writing up this sample template ? I believe you might have missed the NFV interest meeting on Monday, but Larry suggested we stick to the Monday spot for our NFV meetings. His recommendation is to alternate between NFV interest meetings and TOSCA NFV Profile meetings. If that works for everyone, then the meeting on Monday 9/28 will be a TOSCA NFV meeting. So I plan to hold this week NFV ad hoc meeting as usual. Is that available for all of you? The main things I plan to discuss might be: 1, the latest tosca-nfv-profile, we can go through a quick review for this version, because Paul plan for a CSD02 vote on Thursday TC meeting. 2, future plan and remain issues, probably discuss the future meeting time and the remain issues. If you have any other topic want to discuss on this meeting, please also let me know.
