Members of the TOSCA TC, Congratulations. The membership ballot to approve TOSCA as an OASIS Standard has closed. You needed 47 affirmative votes to pass. You received 70 - and no negative votes. TOSCA is now an OASIS Standard. I will announce the result today and prepare the OS version for publication. For reference, once the OS is published, the URLs will be: http://docs.oasis-open.org/tosca/TOSCA/v1.0/os/TOSCA-v1.0-os.pdf (Authoritative) http://docs.oasis-open.org/tosca/TOSCA/v1.0/os/TOSCA-v1.0-os.html http://docs.oasis-open.org/tosca/TOSCA/v1.0/os/TOSCA-v1.0-os.doc And of course, the Latest version links will be adjusted to point to this version as well. Again, congratulations on achieving this milestone. /chet ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: <> Date: Sun, Nov 24, 2013 at 7:10 PM Subject: Email sent to voters re: [voting] Groups - Ballot closed: "Approve TOSCA V1.0 as an OASIS Standard" To: Approve TOSCA V1.0 as an OASIS Standard has closed. Ballot Title: Approve TOSCA V1.0 as an OASIS Standard Question Should Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications V1.0 from the TOSCA TC [1] be approved as an OASIS Standard? Description Cloud computing offers a cost-effective way for businesses to host their applications and services in scalable environments while reducing their need to maintain their own large datacenters. It is even more valuable if applications and services can be ported to alternative cloud environments while keeping services interoperable. The TOSCA specification provides a language to describe service components and their relationships using a service topology, and it provides for describing the management procedures that create or modify services using orchestration processes. The combination of topology and orchestration in a Service Template describes what is needed to be preserved across deployments in different environments to enable interoperable deployment of cloud services and their management throughout the complete lifecycle (e.g. scaling, patching, monitoring, etc.) when the applications are ported over alternative cloud environments. More information on TOSCA can be found at TC's website. In addition, the TC has published a primer that gives a quick introduction to the specification [2].
