All,

Here are some suggestions for FAQ items for our press release:

1.  An explanation of the transition of ebXML into OASIS - i.e. why this was done (may be out of scope?)

2.  What is the difference/possibile relationship between an XML registry and a native XML database?

3.  What are the benefits of using an XML registry?

Regarding #3: A year ago I wrote a report for EPA on the implementation of an XML registry, and we included the following general benefits:

Promotes reuse

Enables efficient version control

Promotes unified understanding of registered objects

Ensures consistency across organization areas

Promotes selective access to registered objects (this one references access control, read-only access, etc.)

Enables collaborative development of XML components
