MQTT Version for Transfer Spec

OpenC2 TC Members,

 

Currently the 
MQTT Transfer Specification calls for using MQTT v3.1.1, based on discussions in the IC-SC about 18 months ago.  As was discussed at last week’s TC meeting, the experience of my software team working with MQTT combined with what I’ve learned working on
 the transfer specification has led me to conclude we should revisit that decision. I now believe we should focus on MQTT v5.0 instead. Per the action I took at the meeting, I’m sharing this view on the TC mail list, with the purpose of:

Getting TC member feedback on this course of action, and

·        
Inviting anyone with experience with MQTT, especially version 5.0, to contribute to the specification’s development.

 

This will be an agenda item at the next IC-SC meeting (Tuesday, 3 November, 11:00am EST).
