OASIS LegalXML and EDRM XML

Dear George:

The LegalXML Steering Committee met today to discuss your email dated
March 21, 2007 which indicated EDRM intended to "finish what we have
begun with the XML and XML 2 projects" with a view to transitioning to
OASIS later, perhaps in the May 2008 timeframe.

As we understand the email, EDRM XML believes it now is premature to
consider joining LegalXML.

The door is always open to EDRM XML as potential members.

It is also possible, if sufficient LegalXML members believe it to be
useful, for a LegalXML TC to be formed with the same subject matter as
EDRM XML between now and such date as discussions between LegalXML and
EDRM XML commence in earnest.

If such a development occurred, a liasion relationship with EDRM XML
could also be considered.

Please let me know if I misunderstood your purpose or if there is
anything else that might be useful to discuss.
