Hi, Laurent.
I look forward to a new phase in the DITA TC. I've worked for the
past five years in the following capacities, and look forward to
new challenges and opportunities as the sole chair:
2008-2010: Secretary, OASIS DITA TC, and lead editor of the
DITA 1.2 specification
2010-present: Co-chair, OASIS DITA TC
Many thanks to Don for his hard work over the years, and best
wishes for his new ventures!
The DITA TC has marvelous, committed voting members (15 at
current count), who actively participate in our lively and
productive weekly conference calls. They are the heart of what
we do and the people who make it possible.
Best,
Kris

Dear
Don and Kristen,
Don first: I hear you're stepping down after many years of
inspired chairmanship on the DITA TC. Thank you for helping make
DITA one of the important standards in the authoring world. In our
line of work it's easy to forget that what we do is
transformational: we get tired of those eyes glazing over when we
try to communicate our enthusiasm about standards and
interoperability, and why it matters so much. The truth remains
that without the tireless efforts of standards proponents, the
world would remain a Tower of Babel and very little would or even
could get done.
Kristen: thank you for stepping in and carrying the torch forward.
OASIS Staff deeply appreciates your commitment and what you've
already accomplished. Let us know how we can support you in
achieving even more.
With all of our gratitude,
